COVID-19 Big Hearts Policy Update Calling All Climate Champions To Apply

TNF-AKHUWAT FAISALABAD BOARDING SCHOOL BUILDING

An all-Pakistan architectural competition was organized by the Institute of Architects Pakistan where 13 architects/firms participated. The concepts from the winning entries have been synthesized, and the detailed designing, structure, and implementation is being carried out in Lahore by Kalim Siddiqui & Associates, free of cost.

The main campus, including classrooms, laboratories, offices, dormitories, and staff housing, is spread over 4 acres, while 4 acres have been allocated for playgrounds and a kitchen garden. The total constructed area of the campus is proposed at 55,000 sq. ft.

The construction philosophy is based on cost efficiency, using brickwork on both the exterior and interior, without concealed wiring, and simple chips flooring to minimize costs. The conservative cost of construction is estimated at Rs. 2,200 per sq. ft., making the total estimated cost Rs. 12 crores (excluding furnishing).

The school has been led since inception by Principal Tariq Saleem Khan, who brings with him 37 years of educational experience, including 26 years of dedicated service at Abbottabad Public School.
